The Baku meeting of the Russian-Azerbaijani Transport Issues Commission has discussed the expansion of bus service between the two countries.
Addressing to the meeting, the head of the State Road Transport Service under the Ministry of Transport of Azerbaijan, Elnur Abdullayev, stated that nine bus routes have been organized between Baku and cities of the Russian Federation to date.
"As part of the measures aimed at expanding the geography of passenger traffic the number of bus routes will be increased up to 15 routes," Abdullayev said.
Alexey Bakirey, the director of the Department of State Policy on Motor & Urban Passenger Transport of the Ministry of Transport of Russia, said that on 27 September is deadline for permission for provision of services on Kazan-Baku passenger transportation, and it is offered to ensure the permission for the resumption of this popular bus route for a short period.
Also, during the meeting the parties agreed to add to the Final Protocol of the meeting the matter of approval of new form of passenger traffic reporting, that is necessary for the Russian side from angle of security.
