Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia continue registration of obligations on railway project North-South.

CJSC Azerbaijani Railways (ADY) reported of the held trilateral Baku meeting of railway employees of Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia, which ended with the signing of a range of documents.

"At the meeting ADY chair Javid Gurbanov pointed out that construction within the project goes on. As well as the bridge across the Astara River, the 8.3 km distance section designed to connect the railway lines of Azerbaijan and Iran will be completed until the end of 2016," ADY said in a statement.

Gurbanov is sure that international transport corridor North-South will increase the transit potential of Azerbaijan.

The parties also covered the matter of construction of distances in the Iranian territory (railway line Qazvin-Rasht-Astara), the participation of Russian Railways in the development of transport route Russia-Azerbaijan-Iran and Russia-Azerbaijan-Iran-India, conditions of Russian Railways
